ADAC Sim Racing Expo 2024: 3DRap adds realism for all Sim Drivers
3DRap’s participation in the 10th ADAC Sim Racing Expo 2024 at Messe Dortmund was a significant opportunity to promote innovation and quality in the world of racing simulation. This year, the event saw unprecedented growth, with three times as many exhibitors as last year and a considerable influx of visitors.

Over 1,000 visitors visited the 3DRap booth, with approximately half of them unfamiliar with 3DRap products and their applications in Sim Racing. The response was positive, with a high level of interest in the three main areas of the show: Upgrades, Realism, and Feeling.

“Upgrades” Area: Improving the Feeling of Commercial DevicesThe “Upgrades” area offered visitors the opportunity to try out modifications developed to enhance the performance of consumer products such as Fanatec and Moza pedals or H-shifters from Logitech and Thrustmaster. The available mods significantly improve the response and precision of the devices, enhancing the driving experience. This space was particularly appreciated by sim drivers looking for solutions to increase performance without purchasing new hardware.
“Realism” Area: The Vintage Collection for a Dive into Historic MotorsportThe “Realism” area attracted a large presence of enthusiasts and gentleman drivers, especially thanks to the Vintage Collection of vintage steering wheels, faithful reproductions of those used in historic racing cars. Among the most admired steering wheels were those of Jim Clark’s Lotus 49, Ayrton Senna’s McLaren MP4/4 and Gilles Villeneuve’s Ferrari 312 T4. These products, made with great attention to detail, offer the possibility of reliving the driving experience of a legendary era, highlighting 3DRap’s commitment to faithfully reproducing the historic characteristics of racing cars.

“Feeling” Area: Vibrations and Wind Effect for an Immersive ExperienceThe “Feeling” area hosted one of the most anticipated novelties, the 3DRap Feeling PRO, an advanced system for simulating vibrations and wind effects. This device is equipped with six rumble motors that transmit variations in the road surface and two fans with conveyors to replicate the wind effect based on the speed of the vehicle. The system was presented on a SimFactory COMPETIZIONE driving station, allowing visitors to test the sensations on the test bench and then drive, for a complete simulation experience. This demonstration attracted great interest, with many sim drivers motivated to integrate the system into their configurations.

Inclusion and Accessibility for Sim Drivers with DisabilitiesGreat attention was also paid to accessibility with an area dedicated to sim drivers with disabilities. Here it was possible to test a COMPETIZIONE M station by SimFactory, equipped with a wheelchair input and the 3DRap Hand Controller. This wearable device allows you to accelerate and brake with your thumb, eliminating the need to use a pedal board, and therefore offers an inclusive driving experience.
