April has arrived, and the international SMAU London 2019 event is just around the corner. After taking part in Naples in 2016, Berlin in 2017, and Naples again in 2018, the 3DRap team will bring its latest innovations for the world of sim racing to one of the most important showcases in the technological innovation sector. From April 10 to 12, the young engineers from Irpinia will be at the exhibition space in the Old Truman Brewery, dedicated to Europe’s leading start-ups, where visitors will be able to see and touch some of the prototypes created by the 3D printing company for the world of virtual racing and beyond.
This is 3DRap’s fourth consecutive year. Since its inception, the digital prototyping company has been invited to take part in SMAU’s dynamic and constantly evolving platform, chosen every year by more than 50,000 entrepreneurs, managers, and companies seeking to stay up to date with the latest technological and digital developments. It is also where the 3DRap team will have the opportunity to establish new partnerships within the Italian ecosystem and beyond.
Following the presentation of Poly, the first portable and fully biodegradable 3D printer, at SMAU Naples 2016; the unveiling of the company’s current logo at SMAU Berlin 2017; and the hand controller for sim drivers with disabilities, which took center stage in the exhibition space at SMAU Naples 2018 after the manual device won the Lamarck Award, this year 3DRap will be able to showcase its sim racing products in London. Simulated racing has been an interesting sector from the very beginning because it is compatible with the envisioned business model. In recent months, the decade-long know-how of 3DRap’s team members and the success achieved with more than 50 peripherals and modifications created for sim racing and shipped to 85 countries worldwide have opened the doors to real-world motorsport for the company. In London, the steering wheels created for Formula Predator’s sports cars will attract the attention of enthusiasts and experts, who will also have the opportunity to learn about the company’s future projects.
In just a few days, the 3DRap team will fly to London, and its desire to grow and aim ever higher—including by taking part in events like these, which provide major opportunities for exchange and discussion with other Italian and European organizations—is fully expressed in the words of Domenico Orsi, Additive Manufacturing Director at 3DRap: “We are proud to have been selected to represent our country in an international setting such as SMAU London 2019. Reaching our fourth appearance demonstrates how connected we feel to this event. We still remember with great pleasure the 2017 edition of SMAU Berlin, during which we unveiled 3DRap’s current logo. This year, too, we will have a great deal to share, and we could not have imagined a better stage on which to do so.”
