3DRap on Tour: From Ferrari to Italy’s Leading Automotive Centers

A year that was certainly not an easy one is coming to an end, but the extraordinary experience that took 3DRap across Italy marks the beginning of new and exciting challenges for 2022.

3DRap closes out 2021 with an all-Italian tour of some of the largest automotive and simulation centers on the peninsula—and beyond.

There were several reasons that prompted two of the team’s engineers, Beniamino Izzo and Davide Cervone, to embark on a long and exciting journey to round off a 2021 that was certainly not easy, but was full of new successes for the company, now well established and highly regarded in sim racing and, more generally, motorsport.

UPS’s Invitation to 3DRap

It all began with an invitation from UPS, the company 3DRap relies on for worldwide shipping and a Ferrari sponsor, to visit the Prancing Horse factory and the simulation center in Maranello.

3DRap accepted the invitation with enthusiasm and great excitement. Two of the team’s engineers set off for Maranello and also took the opportunity to visit some of Italy’s largest simulation and automotive centers, where they personally presented NGASA, the 3DRap pedal set that offers sim racers around the world a unique driving experience.

Izzo and Cervone made several stops by car to meet the teams from Drive Game Seat, Simulation D2D, Simulator Giantruck, and sim driver Aristotelis Vasilakos, a developer for Kunos Simulazioni, in person. “These meetings and collaborations are essential,” explained Beniamino Izzo, “because they also help us understand how each organization works and fits into motorsport, the sector for which most of our production is intended.”

A Journey Through Italy’s Leading Simulation Centers

One of the first pit stops was in Varese, where the two delivered NGASA, the Akina handbrake, and the Pikes shifter to the headquarters of Simulator Giantruck, a company specializing in the design, construction, and sale of dynamic driving simulators. A stop in Verona, home to one of 3DRap’s long-standing partners, Drive Game Seat, was also a must.

The company, which builds simulated driving cockpits, also received a live presentation of the NGASA pedal set: “We particularly care,” Izzo emphasized, “about personally describing all the ingenuity and passion we put into our pedal set. The situation over the past few months prevented us from traveling as much as we used to, and it was exciting to meet our customers in person again, as well as those who follow us, support our work, and share our great passion for motorsport.”

The two 3DRap engineers then stopped in Brescia to visit the D2D simulation center and meet Aristotelis Vasilakos, a developer for Kunos and a well-known industry influencer: “Every interaction,” Izzo concluded, “is an interesting and essential exchange that allows us to continue working with the dedication and passion we put into every creation, and certainly to keep improving the quality of our production.”

Then came the incredible stop in Maranello to visit the Ferrari factory and museum: “It’s not every day that you get to tour one of the companies that made Italian motorsport history, so we are truly happy and proud of this opportunity,” Davide Cervone said in one of the videos documenting the two engineers’ on-the-road adventure on social media.

In Maranello, after spending a few hours among Ferrari masterpieces from the past and present, they were able to visit the Maranello Simulation Center to deliver the Ngasa pedal set—the pedal set manufactured entirely by 3DRap.

“An experience everyone should have at least once in their lifetime,” Cervone continued, “and one we had thanks to UPS, to which we are truly grateful for this great opportunity. It was a very positive interaction for us at 3DRap and also useful for getting feedback from some Ferrari drivers on the performance of our pedal set. A true honor.”

An interesting and exciting journey that ended with an incredible experience and opened new roads for 3DRap toward new projects.
