Description

This MOD allows replacing the worn out potentiometers of the Logitech G25 / G27 / G29 / G920 pedals, with new universal and easily available potentiometers (10K), similar to those used in Thrustmaster pedals. The video guide is at the bottom of the page.

Easy to assemble, the pedal returns accurate, like new. For the G29 / G920 tested on PC only (no PS4/XBox), after assembly perform the axis calibration in the management of gaming devices in Windows, to restore the correspondence between the percentage pressure of the pedal and the signal detected inside the simulator. For more stable operation, direct soldering of the wires to the potentiometers may be necessary.

For PS4 / XBox: on consoles, some customers, signal us to recommend these potentiometers: P11S1V0FLSY00103KL by VISHAY, here is a LINK. It may be necessary to adapt our gear seat for the potentiometer shaft.

The kit includes:

  • Toothed crown
  • Pinion
  • O-ring
  • Fixing screw
  • Potentiometer 10K (optionally)

Note: the potentiometers are not an article produced by 3DRap, but come from an external supplier and are optional. It is possible to search online for potentiometers with the same conformation but of better quality. 3DRap will not reimburse malfunctioning or worn potentiometers in any way.

  • Corona dentata
  • Pignone
  • O-ring
  • Grano di fissaggio
  • Potenziometro 10K (a scelta)

Quick and easy to install following the instruction video.
Pedals working perfectly again now! Thanks!
Can highly recommend this great mod to bring life back to a set of old pedals.

The 3D printed parts are of good quality, however the gear which attaches to the heel of the pedal arm has an angle on the teeth which binds with the potentiometer spring. A bit of filing helped there. I love the addition of a set screw to hold the pinion gear on the potentiometer.

The included potentiometers, though, fell way short. Abysmal quality. The casing became loose on one of them, and when finally fully assembled, the pedals merely flickered instead of registering input. The brake was the only one which produced a smooth and proper input, but it was finicky and soon stopped working as well. I know how to install a potentiometer; I am a guitar builder and have wired entire guitars from scratch. A circuit like this is simple. I reinstalled the stock potentiometers, and all was right again (if a little worn – I did want new potentiometers for a reason)

I know 3DRap don’t make the pots, so it’s not their fault; still, I would recommend getting them separately from a reliable source (ie musical instrument part store). The ones 3DRap include are just no-go, and the lugs don’t particularly lend themselves very well to the kind of plugs Logitech install on the wires. Go for some 10k pots with ring lugs and you’ll be fine. In the meantime, I’ll stick with the stock pots, unable to use my new 3DRap gears, until I absolutely have to drop yet more money for new pots. Scratchy as they are, the stock ones still work better than what I was provided with here.

Hi Ethan, maybe there’s a lot of dirty potentiometers with some noise, we’re very sorry! They usually work very well on these pedals!

(No need to publish – responding to Beniamino)

This was beyond noise, the pots straight-up didn’t work. When wired in – and I took extreme care, as well as photos, to ensure I didn’t mix the wire colours up – they were non-responsive. The input shown in calibration simply bounced up and down erratically, with pushing the pedals having no effect. The brake did work for a little bit, but that soon failed too. Once I re-wired the original potentiometers, all was right again.

You did a stellar job on the levers and fittings, so maybe three stars was a little harsh; I may not be using them right now, but they still give me the ability to swap in new potentiometers if needed, and that’s the most important thing. Still highly satisfied with the main 3DRap product itself, the pots weren’t your fault at all. Thanks!

I’ve bought the potentiomer kit and the Logitech brake mod, great service both times 🙂

The potentiometer kit is excellent for AC but having just bought Assetto Corsa Competizione I’ve found they don’t work for that game, you can’t get the full brake travel. For AC there’s enough adjustment in the game settings to set the pedal ‘minimum and maximum’, but in ACC there’s not enough adjustment – the kit only allows for a very small window of operation. If you sold the original potentiometer I’d buy 5!

This was my second purchase from you (I bought your Logitech brake kit) and the delivery and service is excellent, thank you 🙂

Hi, thanks for the comment! To be able to use the entire run again, it will be sufficient to calibrate the axes of the pedals in the settings of the Windows game devices 🙂

One of the included potentiometers works randomly at times, but I understand it’s not 3DRap’s fault, so I’ll swap it out for a new one. About the 3D printed parts, they fit perfectly, and I was able to mount them in no time at all. The pedals that do work, do so perfectly well. I’ll go as far as to say these potentiometers work just as well, if not better, than brand new stock G27 hardware.

The printed parts have been fitting well to my 10+ years old G27. However, I think that the pots should have a different resistance. When I look at the raw values, I only see approximately half of the range of 0-1023 being used resulting in a reduced measurement resolution after calibration; probably because the pedals do not use the full range of the pots. Maybe it would be better to use a 15K pot to be better aligned to the range actually used by the mod.

BTw: I did not have such a small hex-wrench at hand – so I didn’t fix the screw with no problems so far.

I just fitted a 3DRAP potentiometer to my G29 brake pedal. It was very easy apart from a bit fiddly having to solder the blades to the three terminals. I put it all back together and by pure coincidence, Gt Sport had at that very moment changed the default settings for the G923 brake pedal travel which, on reflection, I think has altered the G29 defaults as well. The potentiometer worked okay but I had to use far too much pedal pressure to get anywhere near full brake. I was unsure if this was because of the GT Sport mod or the 3DRAP kit. I experimented a bit by opening up the pedal box and with GT Sport running I checked the pedal arc and operation to see what was happening. I could get full brake easily with the rubber “artificial feel” block removed so I ended up cutting 10mm off the block which allowed full braking and also prevented the pedal from overextending and allowing the plastic gears from reaching their limit of engagement. I am very happy with the result. The pedal feels progressive and surprisingly I can now go deeper into the corners before jumping on the brakes. I’m now one and a half seconds quicker at Bathurst in the same car and conditions. So it looks like I was never quite getting full brake for the past 3 years anyway. Driving with the ABS off also is significantly better as I have more “feel” now where the lock up point is. I’ll be ordering some more potentiometers to keep as standby spares and hopefully they will be just as successful on the throttle and clutch.

Bonjour,j’aimerais savoir si ce produit fonctionne pour la PS4. Car avant de l’acheter j’aimerais savoir si cela fonctionne sur cette console.

For consoles please read the description of the product 🙂

It is a good product and the guide is easy to understand but I have problems getting the full range out of the pedal. I have tried to use the Windows games devices but i can’t calibrate it and sometimes when I can it doesn’t transmit it properly to my games neither logitech G hub.

Is there a fix for this?

    • Beniamino Izzo

Of course, I advise you to carry out the calibration procedure correctly. Before doing this, disconnect the device from the PC and the mains, then reconnect it.
