3DRap Meets Ferrari Engineer Nicola Materazzi

Saturday, March 3, 2018, is destined to become one of the unforgettable days for our team.

We had the pleasure of being welcomed into the home of a motorsport icon: Engineer Nicola Materazzi.
Five intense hours. Spent almost entirely on our feet (yes, standing, even though there were very comfortable armchairs available) listening to the incredible story and anecdotes of a man who had the good fortune to work side by side with Enzo Ferrari and who designed, practically single-handedly, the most beautiful Ferrari of all time: the F40. Not to mention the equally famous Lancia Stratos and 288 GTO.

When he opened the door to his home, it was as though a treasure chest had opened before our eyes. A private library of over 12,000 volumes in 4 languages, mechanical components from historic cars and many other gems that we prefer to keep close to our hearts.

After briefly meeting him at the Drive Experience in Modena, we wondered what we could give someone who had made history for the Italian brand dreamed of by every car enthusiast.

Fortunately, we remembered something intriguing he had told us about a detail in a photo of a 288 GTO (which we had promptly brought along for him to sign): the gearbox oil pump cover that stands out at the rear of that magnificent car, which still catches the eye of anyone lucky enough to see one at an event somewhere in the world.

Once again, we saw confirmation that passion helps us overcome countless difficulties and achieve unimaginable results. We thank Engineer Materazzi for giving us this profoundly inspiring moment and hope to welcome him to our lab soon.
