We take care of every detail, because we love them too. We also have the opportunity to carry out tests in the forests of Irpinia, among rocky climbs, clay terrain, loose ground in summer, snow in winter and mud pits in spring. Everything that can severely test the durability of the various models.
Fizzy and Wolf: two new chassis for RC Scalers
And that is precisely why the Wolf chassis is named after the animal that is the symbol of Irpinia, the wolf, which roams the still-unspoiled forests and rugged trails that become extreme circuits for unstoppable off-road vehicles.
Wolf’s shock towers, designed for the most extreme trails, are fully adjustable and reversible, while the central skid is secured to two flexible supports that allow the transmission to dynamically adjust the operating angles of the shafts. An inclined, ultra-compact central skid is also available for the toughest climbs. The chassis has a maximum width of 78mm and a minimum width of 65mm.
The Fizzy chassis, designed according to the technical guidance of model enthusiast Manuele Colombo, who tested it at the Crazy Road Model Club circuit in Zelo Buon Persico, in the province of Lodi (a nationally renowned off-road RC modeling facility), is instead designed for competitions. It was created to be lightweight, streamlined and sturdy, with a very low center of gravity. It is perfectly suited to the use of portal axles. The shock towers are fully adjustable and reversible, while the central skid, positioned entirely within the profile of the inclined frame, can be moved forward or backward. The chassis has a maximum width of 68mm and a minimum width of 60mm.
RC4x4 Chassis Made in Italy
Fizzy and Wolf are very lightweight. Their total weight, including screws and plastic components, is 180g in the carbon fiber configuration and 240g in the aluminum configuration. And they are completely made in Italy: even the Allen screws used are made from Italian material and have the highest strength class, namely grade 12.9 bolts.
For both chassis, it is possible to choose aluminum frame rails and shock mounts (anodized, 6082 alloy), or carbon fiber. The frame is 3mm thick. They can also be used with the steering servo mounted horizontally on the axle or on the chassis.
Conversion Kit for Tamiya CC-01
Let us also take a closer look at the conversion kit for the famous Tamiya CC-01 chassis, which makes it possible to transform the model into a modern Scaler with a frame-rail chassis.
A sturdier gearbox, the possibility to extend the wheelbase across 4 positions, install motor pinions from 12T to 29T, and the front-mounted steering servo are just some of the improvements that the 3DRap CC01 Longheroni Conversion Kit can bring to the standard chassis, in addition to making the model lighter and improving front suspension travel and caster.
One component of the kit also makes it possible to bring the rear bevel gears closer together, preventing them from slipping under the most extreme conditions.
