On Sunday, May 30, the 3DRap team attended the opening of the new facility for 1:10 scale Scalers and Crawlers, built in Aiello del Sabato (Av) by ASD Hirpinia Modellismo RC.

Within the area adjacent to the municipal stadium, renovated by the association itself, in addition to the Maxrace Track on Road model racing track, a new circuit has been set up for radio-controlled model enthusiasts to race, have fun or test their Scalers, the small but powerful scale off-road vehicles capable of tackling the most challenging routes.

The Aiello facility is one of the few of its kind in Italy, and 3DRap certainly could not miss the event. Those attending included teams of drivers and enthusiasts of all ages from several Italian regions, the deputy mayor of the municipality of Aiello del Sabato, Sebastiano Gaeta, the president of ASD Hirpinia Modellismo RC, Antonino Lombardo, and Gabriella Danna and Massimo Figuciello, who helped build the Scaler facility. They appreciated 3DRap’s innovative solutions and paved the way—or rather, the track—for new projects.

3Drap: Innovation for Scalers and Dynamic Model Building

But it was not only the latest RC Car innovations from the 3D printing company that drew the team to the new Aiello facility. In fact, 3DRap’s model enthusiasts are the biggest fans of these small radio-controlled off-road vehicles, an exciting, dynamic hobby that is also becoming increasingly popular in Irpinia. Among the various models at the circuit, 3DRap took the opportunity to present Fizzy and Wolf, the two new chassis for Scalers: the first designed for competitions and the second for adventures in the woods. The company also presented the conversion kit, designed and manufactured entirely in-house, to transform the famous Tamiya CC-01 into a modern Scaler with a ladder-frame chassis.

The company developed these three products using 4.0 technology, but also thanks to the variety of the Irpinian landscape, where its designers test the models under the most extreme conditions, including rocky climbs, clay terrain, loose ground in summer, snow in winter and mud pits in spring.

3DRap is delighted to have taken part in an initiative that, in addition to contributing to the redevelopment of the area where the facility is located, gives RC model enthusiasts the opportunity to meet and race with drivers and teams from several Italian regions. It demonstrates that even in Irpinia, the progress offered by new technologies can be harnessed to create something new: “We are delighted that RC model building is becoming increasingly popular in our province as well,” the company stated. “It is a clear sign of the local area’s ability to embrace innovation and progress, which we, especially young people, often seek elsewhere. The state-of-the-art facility built in Aiello proves that it is possible to create something new in our local area. We proposed that ASD Hirpinia Modellismo RC organize some small championships on the new circuit, also taking into account the historical period we have been through and are still experiencing, which has led us to rediscover and appreciate even more the many activities that can be enjoyed outdoors. Above all, this can be done while respecting the environment, since the new radio-controlled cars are electric and, besides being more durable and higher-performing, do not pollute.”

With 3DRap, combining fun, innovation and the promotion of the local area is not difficult at all. It has always been an integral part of the company’s forward-looking mission, reaching across the globe while continuing to support the development of local communities.
