These are just some of the qualities that 3DRap and young Formula 3 champion Matteo Nannini have in common. This year, he is ready to take to the track in Formula 2 as well.
Nannini in Both F2 and F3: An Unprecedented Decision
An unprecedented event that 3DRap is celebrating alongside the renewal of its sponsorship agreement with the driver, born in 2003, who made his F3 debut in 2020. He is the first ever to take the big step up to Formula 2 while also contesting a second season in Formula 3.
Two seasons in one behind the wheel, after so many successes, at just 17 years old. Then again, it is only to be expected from a talent like Nannini, whose motorsport career began 10 years ago, when he was still a child. At just 16, he won the title of Formula 4 champion. The following year, 3DRap joined him on the track for the first time. It marked the start of a partnership set to grow stronger over time.
“Our logo,” says the 3DRap team, “will race on both single-seaters at every round of the F2 and F3 world championships, held at the same circuits as the Formula 1 world championship. We have firmly believed in Nannini from the very beginning and have followed and supported him throughout his journey. We are not only one of his sponsors, but also big fans of his.”
3DRap for Nannini During Lockdown
3DRap, which continues to make its mark in the world of sim racing, has had its logo on Nannini’s single-seater since his F3 debut. The partnership, formed during lockdown, allowed the champion to train with the F1 Rim Add-On Carbon steering wheel designed and produced by the company, mounted on a Drive Game Seat simulator rig.
Today, 3Drap is even prouder to stand alongside the driver from Forlì, representing Italy in the two championships, both of which start in March. They bring him ever closer to fulfilling his childhood dream of racing in Formula 1, like his uncle Alessandro. It is a dream made possible by the determination, strength and passion young Nannini has always shown. He has spent countless hours on the track and many more training with the hardware created and assembled by the 3Drap team, consisting of a steering wheel base, pedals and an F1 replica steering wheel.
The HWA Team
In 2021, Matteo Nannini moves from Jenzer Motorsport to HWA Racelab, whose F1 Talent Factory program he strongly believes in. He will form an all-Italian pairing in F2: alongside Nannini, who is preparing to tackle 45 races in a single year, Alessio Deledda will also race.
