Rai cameras return to Mercogliano, entering 3DRap’s digital prototyping lab. In its episode airing Saturday, May 18 at 12:20 p.m. on Rai 1, the magazine show Linea Verde Life will devote a segment to the 3D printing company’s projects.
Innovation, zero impact, recycling and technology are some of the topics covered by the program, which selected 3DRap as an outstanding company through which to tell these stories.
Products for virtual motor racing, made in Irpinia using 3D printers and entirely biodegradable materials, will take center stage. This is one of the many strengths of the project developed since 2016 by five engineers from Irpinia, who on Saturday will explain how it began and how, from the historic center of Mercogliano, they succeeded in gaining recognition and selling their products worldwide.
With a strong focus on environmentally sustainable production, 3DRap identified sim racing as a growing sector aligned with its business model. One of its most successful products is the hand controller for sim drivers with disabilities, a manual device that allows users to accelerate and brake with their fingers. A wide range of spare parts, zero-impact trophies for online championships and new collaborations with simulated racing drivers have also enabled 3DRap’s young engineers to earn numerous awards and accolades and take part in international showcases such as Smau. Above all, these achievements have opened the doors to real-world racetracks through the #fromvirtualtoreal project. For real-world motorsport, 3DRap has created several steering wheels for Formula Predator’s sports cars and has many more innovations planned.
It is a fine example of development, environmentally responsible innovation and the ability to grow from a small area such as Irpinia to reach the entire world, turning dreams into reality through commitment and passion. On Saturday, 3DRap’s engineers will tell this story from their lab on Rai 1’s Linea Verde Life.
